Patrick brings 36 years of experience as an entrepreneur, advisor, academic, and inventor to KPCG. He was the founding CEO and Chief Scientist at Applied Health Science, Inc. and co-founder and President of North Rim Systems and Computer Associates, a software firm.
He has served as an advisor to many companies and organizations including: Baylor Health Systems, Bristol Myers Squibb, Vancouver Hospital, and SRS Medical. Patrick has served as a director on a number of boards in the health, software and financial sectors, and for 20 years has been a member of the US National Institutes of Health grant review panels. He has also served as an expert panelist for the Canadian federal government’s Centers of Excellence program.
In the academic community, Patrick is internationally recognized. He is a prolific author and is frequently called upon to speak at international conferences.
Patrick joins KPCG after serving as Associate Dean for Research and Enterprise Development for the School of Health Professions at the University of Alabama in Birmingham (UAB) – a world-renowned research university and academic health center. He will maintain his connection to UAB through continued involvement in certain key initiatives.
Patrick has been responsible for more than two dozen inventions, copyrights and patents in areas such as life and health science, software development, oil and gas and financial services. He has sold or licensed the rights to his intellectual property to such organizations as ConvaTec, Sun Bank, First State Bank, and Exxon.
