John Stein
John has over 20 years of entrepreneurial, private equity and mezzanine, operational, and investment banking experience. He is a founding principal of Fidelis Capital, an SEC registered investment advisor based in Birmingham, Alabama.

John is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of Raycom Media, a broadcast company that owns and/or operates 46 television stations in 36 markets and 18 states. He is also a Board member of Wise Metals Group, the world’s third-leading producer of aluminum can stock for the beverage and food industries, Golden Enterprises, a premiere producer, marketer and distributor of a full line of high quality salted snack items throughout the Southeastern United States, SiO2 Medical Products, a company developing novel parenteral containers for the pharmaceutical industry as well as the Chairman of IntraMicron, Inc., a company formed to commercialize the technology of a chemical engineering professor at Auburn University.
From 1996 to 1998, John co-founded and was Co-Managing Partner of Petra Capital LLC, a private subordinated debt fund based in Nashville providing growth capital to small businesses. From 1995 to 1996, John was with Windward Capital Partners, an $875 million leveraged buyout fund based in New York. From 1991 to 1995, John was an Associate in the Investment Banking Department at the First Boston Corporation, a global investment banking firm.
John received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, an MBA from Auburn University at Montgomery, and a BS in Business Administration from Auburn University. Mr. Stein is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
