Lew has 20 years of operational and transactional experience in telecommunications and technology companies: public and private, mature and early-stage, high-growth and turnaround challenges.
Lew’s career has spanned a variety of disciplines, including marketing, product management and business development and he has built an active consulting practice focusing on the financing of early-stage companies. He was most recently CEO of VX Technologies Inc., a 3D measurement product company where he successfully implemented a turnaround strategy focusing on new and more profitable markets. Prior to VX, Lew held executive positions at several early-stage companies including President of J Commerce Inc., a retail point-of-sale software company; EVP & COO of wireless location equipment vendor Cell-Loc Inc. and CEO of its wholly-owned wireless location services subsidiary TimesThree Inc.; and was a founding team member, Director of Marketing & AVP of Corporate Communications at Saraide Inc, a joint venture of Nortel, Microcell, Omnipoint, Ericsson and GSM Capital, and the world’s first wireless Internet service company. His early career was spent with AGT Cellular (now TELUS Mobility), Nortel, and New North Media, a Nortel/NBTel/Bell Canada joint venture delivering interactive services before the rise of the Internet.
Lew has been a director and board member of several early-stage ventures including Infowave Software, Inc., a pioneer of the wireless enterprise applications. He currently sits on the board of directors of Calgary Economic Development and is a part-time business instructor. He holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, and a BSc from the University of King’s College.
