Clete has over 20 years of experience in operating, growing and investing in successful businesses. He has led in excess of one hundred transactions to date in his career.

Immediately before joining KPCG Clete founded his own consulting and advisory firm for acquisitions, interim management, and turnarounds with clients in the healthcare, manufacturing, software and information technology industries.

Prior to that, he was the president of a family-owned venture capital and private equity firm based in Birmingham, Alabama where he also personally managed the turnaround of portfolio companies when necessary.

Earlier in his career, Clete was the founding President of VitalMed Inc., which provides staffing and related services for anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists. He also founded Preferred MedSearch Consultants, Inc., a physician and nurse search firm, and Preferred Locum.com, a locum tenens company for anesthesia. Notably, he started with MedPartners, Inc. (now Caremark Rx, Inc. – acquired by CVS) four months after incorporation, served as Vice President of Finance, Vice President of Financial Operations and Vice President of Corporate Strategy, and over nine years, saw it grow to over $6 Billion in revenues.

He began his career with with Coopers and Lybrand, then with a start-up transportation company in various roles including accounting, sales and operations.

Clete is presently on the board of AQ2 Technologies, LLC, a provider of check, remittance and lockbox processing software and MCM Technology, LLC, an enterprise asset management solutions provider to the government security sector.

He holds a BA from Birmingham Southern College.
